Sat 10/18/08

The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) elite Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) thrilled the sold-out Mohegan Sun Arena crowd at the Mohegan Sun Invitational in Uncasville, Conn.  The crowd got their money’s worth as they watched current world number one Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil) take the round two victory after riding the bull, Bowtech’s I-94, owned by John & Lacey Berger, and scoring 89.5 points.  Marchi collected a $2,730 check and is currently sitting second in the event standings with a total of 172.5 points on two bulls.

Taking second place in round two was Australia’s Jared Farley (Kempsey, Australia) who scored 88.5 points on Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Julie Rosen’s bull, Denny Crane.  Third place went to Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) who took on Why Not Minot of Chad Berger/ Roger Ward for 88 points.  Lostroh is currently sitting number one in the overall event standings with 175.75 points.  Fourth and fifth place were split by Brazilians Valdiron de Oliveira (Aparecida de Goiania, GO, Brazil) and Pim Rosa (Paulo de Faria, Brazil) who each scored 87.75 points.  Oliveira rode the bull, Gold Bell Wine of Chad Berger/Winston Loe while Rosa took on Robinson/Tedesco’s Mule Train.

As the winner of round one at the Mohegan Sun Invitational in Uncasville, Conn., Cord McCoy (Tupelo, Okla.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round two.  McCoy bucked off the bull, God’s Gift; consequently, the stock contractors, Chad Berger/Clay Struve, collected the $5,000 bonus.  As the winner of round two, Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil) will be eligible to compete for the bonus during round three of the event.

The Mohegan Sun Invitational continues tomorrow as the world’s best bull riders compete in round three and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round to see who will take home the final regular season event title of the 2008 BFTS season.  Catch the exciting conclusion when it airs on FOX on Sunday, October 19 at 4:30 p.m. EST!!
