Professional Bull Riders’ Elite Built Ford Tough Series Debuts in Springfield, Missouri

PUEBLO, Colo. (September 14, 2009) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) tour debuts in Springfield, Mo., for the PFIWestern.com Invitational presented by Bass Pro Shops, stop no. 27 on the prestigious tour. For two action-packed evenings, the top 40 bull riders in the world will take on the toughest bulls the PBR has to offer at the JQH Arena.  Action will get underway on Saturday, September 19 at 6:50 p.m. and on Sunday, September 20 at 5 p.m.   

Tickets start at as little as $10 and increase to $20, $40, $60, and $80.  A ticket will guarantee PBR fans, new and old, not only an up-close-and-personal view of the toughest athletes on earth, but they will also see more than two hours of edge-of-your-seat thrills and spills, rock & roll music, and pyrotechnics. Riders expected in The Show-Me State are 2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil); home state cowboys Luke Snyder (Raymore, Mo.) who will compete in his 261st consecutive BFTS event and fan favorite Matt Bohon (Cole Camp, Mo.); current no. 1 bull rider in the world Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.); two-time World Champion Chris Shivers (Jonesville, La.); and PBR superstars J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C); Austin Meier (Kinta, Okla.); Wiley Petersen (Fort Hall, Idaho); and Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Okla.).

The PFIWestern.com Invitational will consist of three rounds of competition with the first two rounds featuring the top 40 bull riders matched against the PBR’s toughest bulls. The scores from the two rides will be combined and the riders with the top 15 scores will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round after intermission on Sunday. In the end, the cowboy with the highest total score on three bulls will be declared the winner!

The Springfield event will air on VERSUS on Saturday, September 19th at 10:30 p.m. EST.  The conclusion of the two-day event can be viewed on VERSUS on Sunday, September 20th at 9 p.m. EST.  Please check your local listings for details on the TV times from Springfield.
