Round 1 full of unknowns
COLUMBUS, Ohio (October 10, 2009) - Columbus is always an interesting event to look at, because it's in a part of the country where bull

riding doesn't often go, and it usually features bulls that I don't see as often. Some of the bulls are brand-new, some have served time on the PBR's lower tours, and there are a number of PBR veterans in the pen as well.
You never know what to expect out of the brand-new bulls. Obviously someone thought they were good enough to appear on the Built Ford Tough Series. That could mean several things: They could be the next great money bull, or they could be the next Bodacious. Or they could freeze up under the lights and the noise and not perform up to expectations. It's hard to tell, but several guys, including L.J. Jenkins, Reese Cates, Austin Meier, Elliot Jacoby, and Portland champ Shane Proctor will be putting new bulls to the test in Round 1.
The two most seasoned veteran bulls in Round 1 are also two with the best stats.
Dakota Rodeo's Evil Forces has 97 outs in the PBR at all levels, and brings an impressive 89-point average score - having been ridden 37 times. Evil Forces will be facing Edvaldo Ferreira, and this matchup has the most potential for a round win.
Dakota Rodeo's Scaredy cat has 75 outs under his belt, and will be facing Ross Coleman for the 3rd time. Ross has struggled recently, but this is a bull that everyone gets well on. Ross has ridden him before for 89.5 points.
Kasey Hayes and JB Mauney also have favorable matchups in Round 1, Hayes with Dakota Rodeo's The Iceman, and Mauney with Hebert's Semi-Automatic - a rematch. Mauney has been on him twice before and is 1 and 1 against him, but it's been over two years since they last met.
